First Windows 8 Phone from Samsung?
Interestingly Samsung has Anounced the Samsung Ativ S on the IFA in Berlin!
I tought it was reltively sure, that the first Win 8 Phones will come from Nokia - which is now proofed that this was wrong :-)
But the much more interesting info about it is:
The Ativ S is SQUARE with ROUND CORNERS! So they will get sued by apple again! I can see apple lawyers already screaming in their offices about that - haha
The new Samsung Ativ S will come with a 4.8 Inch Touch Screen, HD-Super-AMOLED with a resolution of 1.280x720 and a 1.5 GHz Dualcore - as we all know, Windows is much better in using multiple cores while does not need 4 of them because it does not use Java .. which is a benefit for windows, as they can still use .Net which is (in my opinion) better (faster) for developing.
Rest of the Ativa S Features is State of the Art so far, nothing exciting but it brings everything you need including a SD Card Slot for up to 32 GByte.
Nothing was said about the price and it will be interesting how that phone will be accepted by the rest of the world - at least Samsung was very successful with the S3.
As we all know, Samsung features their own App Store and there may be some surprises in the future, because I could imagine, that Samsung will also talk with MS about instanting their own Samsung Shop for Win 8 Games/Apps also - let's see what happens.
Bad Times for Apple so far ;-)
There was also the Ativ Tab announced, weights less than the iPad but has a lower resolution than the iPad. But its a bit high priced so no direct competition for the Nexus 7.
